Radiotherapy

Unity MR Linac

Unity MR Linac integrates linear accelerator technology with real-time 1.5 Tesla (T) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and advanced treatment planning into a single platform, allowing for unprecedented accuracy in image-guided daily adaptive radiotherapy.

Key features:
  • To see and track difficult-to-visualise soft-tissue anatomies with MR Imaging;
  • To provides insights to any changes in tumour size and position;
  • Adaptive radiation doses at the time of treatment;
  • To increase the precision in localising tumour; and
  • To reduce treatment margins and fraction regimens

Radixact X9

As the next generation of helical radiation therapy technology, Radixact X9 supports effective and efficient delivery of precise radiation treatments for a full spectrum of cancer patients.

Key features:
  • Shortened scan time and treatment delivery time;
  • Delivery of individualised treatments for both routine and complex indications;
  • Megavoltage Computed Tomography imaging system for daily volumetric verification;
  • Delivery of image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy to most parts of the body; and
  • Adaptive radiation therapy to keep track of anatomic and dose changes, initiate re-plan that ensures treatment outcome

Versa HD

Versa HD employs sophisticated conformal beam-shaping technology and high dose rates to achieve precision and speed for delivery of advanced stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). It also offers the flexibility of conventional techniques and the newest imaging technology to aid in the visualisation and treatment of a broad range of tumours throughout the body.

Key features:
  • Shortened treatment time with market-leading multi-leaf collimator leaf travel speeds, ultra-low leaf transmission, and high dose rate delivery;
  • SBRT delivery within a reasonable time;
  • Reduced non-therapeutic doses to spare organs-at-risk for potentially decreased side effects and a lower risk of secondary cancer;
  • Custom configurations for specific clinical requirements; and
  • Soft tissue visualisation during treatment using the latest imaging technology

Diagnostic Imaging

SiPM PET/CT

The latest SiPM PET/CT scanner provides revolutionary services in cancer imaging. The innovative technology precisely quantifies cell metabolism according to physiologic characteristics and molecular biochemical properties. Oncologists can obtain accurate information to prescribe the most suitable treatment regime for patients, such as radiation dosimetry for radiotherapy and radionuclide therapy.

Key features:
  • A unique new technique measures multi-metabolic parameters and perform absolute quantification;
  • New photon sensor and fast timing resolution amplify signal detection sensitivity;
  • Small crystal element enhances image resolution and small lesion detectability;
  • Large field of view and sensitive detector shorten examination time; and
  • Daily automatic self-calibration improves image quality and system reliability

MR Simulator for Radiotherapy Treatment Planning

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is well known for providing superb soft tissue details for better tumour visualisation in cancer cases. Dedicated MR simulator allows patients being scanned under treatment position. This additionally offers excellent image matching to the planning CT, thus providing highly accurate target and organs at risk contours for treatment planning. It also ensures treatment dose being prescribed to the target volume precisely.

Siemens MAGNETOM Sola

Now available in HKSH Eastern Medical Centre, Hong Kong’s first MAGNETOM Sola is the latest model of 1.5 Tesla MRI. Equipped with BioMatrix Technology, MAGNETOM Sola can automatically adjust to patient biovariability and overcome variations in MRI examinations. It can achieve fast and reliable results with higher diagnostic confidence and consistent, high-quality personalised examinations.

With Simultaneous Multi-Slice turbo spin echo (TSE), the system supports musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging with up to 46% reduction in scan time for an entire MSK examination.

MEGNETOM sola is also specially designed for, among others, imaging and biopsy with high SNR in both diagnostic and interventional setups, making it an ideal imaging equipment for cancers.

Siemens SOMATOM Force

Unlike conventional CT scanners, SOMATOM Force can scan patients at a speed of up to 737 millimeter per second, at 0.24mm spatial resolution and at routinely low radiation dose and contrast media dose. The ultra-fast scan speed allows whole abdomen scanning in a fraction of 1 second without requiring the patients to hold breath frequently. The low-noise images with best-in-class spatial resolution enables delineation of fine details, giving doctors precise information for making accurate diagnoses.

Hologic 3 Dimensions Mammography System

Hologic 3 Dimensions system provides 3D mammographic images of higher quality and greater patient comfort during examination. This is clinically proven to have the ability to detect up to 65% more invasive breast cancers than the conventional 2D models, regardless of age or breast density. Curved compression surface mirrors the breast shape. It improves comfort without degrading image quality and increasing the time and radiation dose to patients.

Philips EPIQ 7 Premium Ultrasound Scanner

Philips EPIQ 7 Premium ultrasound system has the superb capability of creating images of optimal resolution. Its PureWave transducer technology improves penetration and provides excellent detailed resolution.
